Oral Hygiene Awareness Seminar and Free Dental Check-up

Khyber Medical University-Institute of Health Sciences in Islamabad recently hosted an incredibly successful Oral Hygiene Awareness Seminar in collaboration with Colgate.

The main goal of the event was to raise awareness about dental health among students and the public. Dr. Afreenish Malik deserves special recognition for her outstanding efforts in organizing this event. It took place on September 10, 2024, and brought together esteemed speakers and experts in oral health.

The seminar featured five impressive speakers: Dr. Beenish Aleem, Dr. Afreenish Malik, Dr. Taniya Rehman, Ms. Haleema Saeed, and Ms. Sara Ejaz Khan. Each speaker shared valuable insights into oral hygiene practices, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good dental health and providing practical tips to achieve it.

The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Haider Darain, Dean Allied Health Sciences, and Shaikh Atif Mehmood, Director of KMU-IHS Islamabad. Colgate played a significant role in supporting the event by generously providing toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other dental products, which were distributed to the participants throughout the seminar.

After each speaker’s informative session, an interactive question-and-answer segment took place, where enthusiastic dental students actively participated. Prizes were awarded for the best questions, encouraging student engagement. Moreover, an exciting lucky draw was conducted, with one lucky student winning a fantastic prize.

To wrap up the seminar, shields and certificates were presented to the speakers, and the members of the Dental Club were honored for their outstanding efforts in organizing the event.

The day concluded with a free dental check-up for all attendees, where dental kits and toothpaste were distributed.
