Community Visit Organized by KMU-IHS Islamabad Nursing Department Islamabad, December 10, 2024
The Nursing Department of Khyber Medical University's Institute of Health Sciences (KMU-IHS) Islamabad, under the guidance of Mr. Numan Khan, Faculty of Nursing, organized a highly impactful community visit for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students. This visit served as a vital component of the BSN curriculum, aligning with the course objectives related to community health and providing students with practical exposure to real-world healthcare scenarios.
This experiential learning opportunity allowed students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. By engaging directly with the community, students enhanced their understanding of pressing public health issues, developed cultural competence, and cultivated empathy and compassion—qualities essential to nursing practice.
The community visit underscores KMU-IHS Islamabad’s commitment to delivering exceptional nursing education that addresses the dynamic and complex healthcare needs of diverse populations. Through initiatives like these, the institution fosters a sense of social responsibility and community engagement among its students, preparing them to emerge as well-rounded healthcare professionals ready to make a meaningful impact in the field of nursing.
KMU-IHS Islamabad remains dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare by equipping nursing students with the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to excel in their roles and serve their communities with excellence and compassion.
